CD 162 - Type II, Mold G8

CD 162 Type 2 Mold G8 front
CD 162 Type 2 Mold G8 reverse
Color: Blue Aqua
Base Type: NDP:c, uneven

Features: Reworking of CD 162 Type I Mold G8 to enlarge wire groove into Type II. Front lettering is re-cut and enlarged slightly, although still weak with rounded edges. The five blot-outs beneath LYNCHBURG are no longer visible on most pieces. On reverse, MADE IN U.S.A. is re-cut although still weak; the periods after U.S.A. have been strengthened. The S is partially strengthened, leaving the top curve thicker and larger than the bottom (see below). The mold number is barely visible and cannot be seen on some pieces. This mold was reworked again to further widen wire groove into a Type III, CD 162 Type III Mold G8.

Mold Number Location: On reverse centered below NO.
