CD 162 - Type II, Mold G11

Color: Blue
Base Type: CDP:n, large, irregular

Features: Reworking of CD 162 I, Mold G11 to widen wire groove and strengthen lettering. Lettering is now strong with mostly triangular edges. On front, the five circle blot-outs beneath LYNCHBURG are not usually visible. On reverse, MADE IN U.S.A. is stronger; the lower curve of S is heavy and larger than the top; periods are enlarged. The large circle blot-out following 36- is usually visible. The mold number is die stamped with the first 1 slightly higher than the second 1 (see below). On top of crown there are indistinct marks in the glass; these may be remnants of removed lettering or repair to the mold (see CD 162 III, Mold G11). This mold was retooled a second time to further widen the wire groove, CD 162 III, Mold G11.

Mold Number Location: On reverse centered below NO.
